The symposium is being organized around the classic ISA sessions with the addition of a ‘theme session’ and a ‘special session’. These include
1. REMOTE SENSING, GEOPHYSICAL PROSPECTION AND FIELD ARCHAEOLOGY (all kind of techniques applied to study archaeological sites from the surface, sampling, fieldwalking strategies, site monitoring, in-situ observations, etc.) Conveners: Luis Barba and Robert Sternberg
2. ARCHAEO-CHRONOMETRY (New developments in dating techniques, novel applications, methods of combining dating strategies, new interpretation strategies, synchronization of cultures, cultural phase analysis, etc.) Convener: Marco Martini

7. THEME SESSION: FORENSIC SCIENCE INVESTIGATIONS IN ART AND ARCHAEOLOGY Convenor: Ioanna Kakoulli
8. SPECIAL SESSION: THE TRANSITION FROM THE BRONZE TO THE IRON AGE Convener: Mark Pollard and Sturt Manning
Symposium Format: Keynote, oral and poster presentations as well as panel discussions are planned. These will give participants the opportunity to discuss the application of research findings and implications to archaeology and other scientific disciplines.

We will be offering a number of exciting social engagements during the week.A welcome reception will take place in the garden Watts_Editorial_67's of the Getty Villa in Malibu. A mid week excursion will be made to Watts towers. An optional gala dinner will be offered in UCLA’s faculty center. Also, post-conference excursions to see a number of Los Angeles architectural monuments will be offered at a nominal additional charge to the attendees.

Posters should be 3 x 4 feet in dimension and presented in portrait format.
All posters should be brought to the symposium by the authors. Under no circumstances will posters be printed by the organizers.
